“Your job is not to write a copy. Your job is to know your visitors, customers and prospects so well, you understand the situation they’re in right now, where they’d like to be, and exactly how your solution can and will get them to their ideal self.” – Joanna Wiebe

Joanna Wiebe is one the masters of copywriting and an unbelievable copywriter in the field of marketing, and according to her quote, as a copywriter you don’t need to feel it as it is a task to write a copy to attract more visitors to your products or your service.

One rule about copywriting , you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. If you want to become a great copywriter, or even just a better one, it makes sense to learn from the masters.

There is a lot of myth about copywriting, as many people , including people who work in the digital marketing field, consider copywriters are more creative people than any other people who are working any other job, when in fact that copywriting is not only about being creative, copywriters are considered better at rearranging their heads not just being “Creative”.

That is why in this blog we will discuss the true meaning of copywriting, what is copywriting, what do copywriters do, and what skills do they have other than creativity.

If you are interested in copywriting, and want to know more about copywriting, keep on reading this blog, and you can also check other blogs on Integrity Blogs, to know more about digital marketing.

What Is CopyWriting?

The scientific definition of CopyWriting is “Copywriting is a writing process of a persuasive marketing advertisement to motivate people to take some actions, such as make a purchase, click on a link, donate to a cause, or schedule a consultation.”

In other words, copywriting is considered a tool to increase the sales of the company or a product.

There are several forms of copywriting, they can be in written forms, that are published in print or online, and there are also some other materials that are spoken, such as scripts used for videos or commercials.

Copywritings are everywhere!

In fact you can find copywriting everywhere around you, from your mailbox, to the advertisements in the street to social media, they are all forms of copywriting.

Forms Of CopyWritings

Copywriting is not only in the written form, although it is one of the most used and the most famous forms of copywriting, but you can also “HEAR” copywriting.

Television commercials, product reviews on YouTube, and even short “how-to” videos on using a product are all examples of spoken copywriting.

CopyWrite and CopyRight

Whenever you tell someone that you are a Copywriter they also confuse it with Copyright. We have discussed the meaning of copywriting earlier in this blog, on the other hand , Copyright refers to the legal right to sell or produce somebody’s work, whether that work as a book, a script, a video or even a song. The purpose of a copyright is to protect that original material and prevent its illegal use.

What Exactly Does a Copywriter Do?

As we mentioned above, if copywriting is the material of the advertisement to attract more people and encourage them to take action, then the person who is writing or thinking about that copywriting is called a “copywriter”.

Who Is The CopyWriter?

A Copywriter is a professional writer responsible for writing the text, or copy, used in marketing and promotional materials.

How To Become A Professional CopyWriter?

Of course you have heard millions of myths and talks about the copywriter’s myth, that the copywriter is born with a talent, and if you don’t have that talent you can never and you will never ever be a professional copywriter. As learning writing is an impossible career.

On the other hand, you may have heard thousands of stories that writing is an easy thing to do, and anyone can do without the skills or the talent to do so.

However,  both of these myths are completely untrue and unfair. When it comes to copywriters, they are nothing but professional writers in the  marketing field, who have learned and practiced their craft.

Myths About CopyWritings & CopyWriter

Copywriters were not born knowing how to  write, and no one of us were born with that skill, however the skilled copywriter is the person who has cultivated that skill, and  learned with a bit of persistence.

Maybe because of the untrue myths that have been told about copywriting as a profession, people were afraid of becoming a copywriter, even though  it has been their passion for quiet sometimes, and these myths have done nothing but make copywriting a somewhat exclusive profession that not many people go into.

And if thought about it, it is not a bad thing after all, as it works to your advantage as a copywriter because it means that well-trained copywriters are hard to find.

Copywriting VS Content Writing?

This is the million dollar question. Probably you have heard or read that question a million times on the internet.

To break this once and for all for you, here is the main and ultimate difference: Copywriting & Content Writing.

As we mentioned above, copywriting is all about marketing. So,  refers to writing marketing and promotional materials, whether they are written or heard.

On the other hand, Content writing refers to writing informational or editorial pages on websites, such as blog posts, article pages, or product pages.

However, like any good copywriting, content writing aims to engage the reader and make them take some form of action, even if it’s just staying on a website to read another page.

the core of nearly every business.  businesses wouldn’t be able to share their messages with potential customers to expand their markets, or with current customers to keep them engaged.
